Seven, But Fancy
Over the last couple of months along side the day job, and development of the Gauge Magic and standard Seven, we’ve been working on a full size, completely RGB Seven for display purposes.
Next steps include working on a diffuser to give a clean line for the inner and outer sections.
The lights are controlled by an ESP32 running WLED so you can control and customise the colours and animations from your phone over WiFi.
More to come…
Gauge Magic - The Refill
Working with Andrew Revill, the prolific Seven modification creator, we’re in the process of bringing back to market the fantastic Gauge Magic.
Ever been caught out by the optimistic fuel gauge in your Seven?
Wanted to know if can actually make it home?
Or if you have enough fuel to finish the race when you start the car?
Well here’s the solution!
VDO Style Sandwich model and custom wiring model
We’re planning a few varieties.
Molex Micro-Fit 3.0 Sandwich
VDO Style Spade Terminal Sandwich
Wago Style DIY version
Molex Micro-Fit 3.0 socket to Solder Pads
Fully Solder Pad DIY
These will connect to your car’s wiring harness between the standard gauge connector, and the gauge itself. It will read the value being sent from the tank sender, compare it to a lookup table and send a remapped value to the gauge.
Programming is simple via Andrew Revills Windows Application connected over a USB-C cable.
Add a reading for an empty tank, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full. And the same for the output values to the gauge and you’re off to the races.
More values input, the more accurate gauge you’ll have.
These are compatible with the original VDO style 3 pin gauges, as well as the newer 270degree Cearbont gauges.
There’s a header for LED and a buzzer included for configurable warnings.
